Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott) carried out a broad scientific and exploration program. Scott along with Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans reached the South Pole on 17 January 1912. The party died on the return journey. Cherry-Garrard served as assistant zoologist during the expedition.
