Administrative / Biographical History

The Ambulance Service Institute (A.S.I.) was formed by members of the National Health Service Ambulance Services in 1976 by the amalgamation of three previous Institutes, the Institute of Ambulance Officers (I.A.O.), the Institute of Certified Ambulance Personnel (I.C.A.P.) and the National Institute of Ambulance Instructors (N.I.A.I.). It has members throughout Great Britain and in various Ambulance Services abroad.

The Ambulance Service Institute in conjunction with the Association of Chief Ambulance Officers and the National Institute of Ambulance Instructors produce a journal called Ambulance Journal.
