of great interest. The American address of a Samuel Jones is given in three places (iii., 53, 64). Was this migrant to Minnesota W.J.'s son Samuel? This question is answered in the affirmative by GWR/53, GWR/54, 59. On p.12 is an 1857 reference to his son Elias, who had presumably settled at Gwredog after his marriage in 1852. On pp.58-80 are particulars of expenses in building a new house at Brynmor; on p.67 is a reference to buying outlaying portions of Mr. Assheton Smith's estate. In W.J.'s hand (x-xi) are interesting bit sof information he had gathered concerning the title to Maesyporth, Llangeinwen (for this family, see Pedigrees, 72).
