Scope and Content

A copy of Letts's Eighteenpenny Diary and Almanack for 1863 containing manuscript entries by the Rev. Daniel Evans. At the beginning of the year he appears to have been curate in charge of the licensed school-room at Pontypridd in the district of Glyntaff. He then became assistant curate at Whitchurch and in December 1863 he was collated to the living of Pyle and Cynffig, all in the diocese of Llandaff. There are also some notes of later date, written mainly in pencil, in another hand. The above Daniel Evans may well be the same person as the Rev. Daniel Evans (d. 1875), who was rector of Penmorfa and Dolbenmaen, 1869-1875.
