Scope and Content

The City of Oxford Tramways Company first operated in Oxford in 1881 before being taken over by City of Oxford Electric Tramway Company in 1906. In 1921 they became the City of Oxford Motor Services. In 1971 they were renamed Oxford South Midland before finally becoming the Oxford Bus Company.

The records consist of mostly financial documents and information on staff wages as well as some advertising material.

The records were deposited as Acc 4881 in July 2001. Catalogued by Alison Smith in July 2016.
