Scope and Content

Stoke Talmage is a village to the south- east of Oxford, a few miles to the north of Watlington. In 1928, it was united with the parish of Wheatfield, and then in 1981 both parishes were united with

Tetsworth, Adwell, South Weston and Lewknor.

All the records of Stoke Talmage were originally deposited with the Bodleian Library in 1981, except for PAR257/16/H1/1, which was first deposited with Oxfordshire Archives in 1942 as Accession Number 87. In 1976, this was transferred to the Bodleian Library, and then in the 1980s all the records were transferred back to Oxfordshire Archives. An appendix at the end of this catalogue provides a concordance of old and new references.

Recatalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in July 1996. Accession 4579, and added in January 2000 by Linda Haynes
