Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas John Walters was born 2 August 1898 in Kentisbury, Devon. He enlisted with the Devonshire Regiment in 1915 and later served with the Royal Army Medical Corps. By the outbreak of the Second World War Mr Walters was living at 40 Illtyd Road, Ely, Cardiff and was employed as a lorry driver. He enrolled with number 4 Platoon 'B' Company 11th Glamorgan Battalion Home Guard on the 14 June 1940 and attained the rank of sergeant. Thomas John Walters died 1977
