Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Wellings family lived in the Pontlottyn area from at least the late nineteenth century onwards. William Wellings was a colliery labourer and married Sarah Tippett in 1897. They lived in Greenfield Street, Pontlottyn and had five children, Elizabeth Mary, Doris May, Idris, Cyril and Ivor Norman. William Wellings died on 8 March 1944 and Sarah Wellings on 11 February 1967. The collection also relates to the Tippett, Coonick and Harding families.
