Scope and Content

Includes a range of reference books, including independently published material, and reports, across a variety of different subjects (see System of Arrangement for further information).

Arrangement

The Runnymede Trust developed its own classification scheme for its library and has stipulated that this is maintained and that the library is kept distinct from any other collection of books.

The scheme is as follows:

Access Information

The Runnymede Trust Library collection is a reference library only. We do not loan books and access is provided onsite only.

No appointment is needed to browse the library collections in the reading room, drop-in.

The reading room is open Wednesday-Friday, 10am-4pm. There is a late night opening on the second Thursday of every month, when the reading room is open 1pm-7pm. The reading room is also open for library browsing only on Saturdays, 1pm-4pm

Custodial History

The Runnymede library collection was collected by the Runnymede Trust. The library moved to Middlesex University in 2001 and was transferred to Black Cultural Archives in June 2011.
