Scope and Content

Belonging to Mr. Edwin Roberts, master of the brig Utopia of Aberystwyth (1886-1888). Many letters from Hamburg (this being evidently bought there, Kopierbuch, No.191) to firms at Swansea, Briton Ferry, Port Talbot, especially to Jenkin Hill & Sons, Briton Ferry (Jenkin Hill himself was one of the most prominent men of the place, member of the later Glamorgan County Council, and a foremost layman with the Calvinistic Methodist denomination). Stores and cargo take up most of the correspondence.
