Scope and Content

Three ross drawings of the operation, the tumour, and its removal and two outline diagrams of the patient's head to demonstrate the position of the tumour. Annotations on the back read "EW-Congress 8552 American lecture 1954, pontine tumour, fig 11 chapter 2, Jefferson Trigem. Neurinoma case" and "patient's surname 11.7.43 Manchester University. 53102601".

This image features as plate 43 accompanying case 3 in the publication G. Jefferson, 'The trigeminal neurinomas', Clinical Neurosurgery, 1955, 1:11-54, in which it is described as a "Case 3. Trigeminal neurinoma in Meckel's cave; extraction of tumour from greatly enlarged foramen ovale".
