Will of Christopher [Anstey] (copy), Trumpington etc., Cambridgeshire

Will of the Revd Christopher Anstey of Norton, Co Durham, clerk, relative to his real estates in Cambridgeshire. He leaves all his property in the county to his nephew William Jekyl Anstey esq, to the use of the heirs of his own body, and in default thereof to the use of his brother Arthur Anstey Calvert esq of Bath, and of his nephews Christopher John Anstey of Lincoln's Inn, barrister (son of his brother John Anstey esq, deceased), and Henry Bosanquet of the Middle Temple, barrister, to the use of the said Christopher John Anstey and his heirs. The trustees are to raise #12,000 on the estates and apply the money as executors of Anstey's personal estate (dealt with in a separate will), and the trust remains in force for 200 years or until all the terms of his will are satisfied. He gives his brother Thomas Anstey esq and his nephew William Jekyl Anstey powers to appoint replacement trustees if this becomes necessary. The codicil of 1825 follows upon his marriage and confirms an annuity after his decease of #320 per annum to his wife Elizabeth for life, charged upon his estates in Trumpington. 5 Jan 1822, with single codicil dated 10 Mar 1825, 3 pages with codicil entered on verso of third page, signed and sealed by Anstey. Will witnessed by James Anthony Wickham, solicitor, of Frome, Somerset, J W D Wickham and ?H Cruse, clerks. Codicil witnessed by Edward Syne jnr, builder, of Bath, George Wigens, law stationer and formerly clerk to Mr Cruckshank of Bath, solicitor, and William Dore, clerk to Christopher John Anstey esq of Bath, barrister.
