Scope and Content

A volume originally used by D. Pryse Williams in July 1929, to record the names and addresses of members of Libanus Baptist Church, Treherbert. It was used by him subsequently, in the late 1940s, to record a variety of notes and memoranda of local interest e.g. copies of memorial inscriptions of William Morgan, JP, Tynewydd, Treherbert (1911), The Rev. H. Harries (' Afanwy') (1931), the Rev. W. Cynon Evans, Blaen-y-cwm (1943), etc.; memoranda relating to the Rev. Maurice Jones, Merthyr Tydfil, J. M. Jones ('Ioan Cunllo'), William Abraham ('Mabon'), the Rev. William Jenkins, Libanus, Treherbert, Evan Davies, Primrose Hill, and Edward Jenkins, Cilynys; memoranda of resolutions by Libanus Baptist Church relating to the renovation of the chapel and the application to the Baptist Building Fund of Wales for a loan, 1949; a note on an oak chair presented to Libanus Baptist Church in memory of Mrs Susanna Hughes, 1949; items of Treherbert interest acquired orally from local residents, etc. Formerly D.
