Scope and Content

Correspondence with Anglo-Austrian Society members and newspaper clippings relating to 1) Austrian politician and diplomat Kurt Waldheim, who was revealed in 1985 to have been an intelligence officer in Nazi Germany's Wehrmacht during World War II; and 2) Austrian SS commander and war criminal who in 1985, on his return from Italy where he had spent 33 years in prison, was greeted with a handshake by the then Austrian Defence Minister Friedhelm Frischenschlager.
