The British Fisherman's Association represented fisherman from Hull, Grimsby, Fleetwood and Aberdeen following the loss of their livelihood and poor information from the British Government about their rights to claim redundancy. The Campaign was successful in 2001 and an estimated 2000 trawler men in Hull were expected to receive payments.
Bundle of press cuttings primarily from the Hull Daily Mail, correspondence including to/from Alan Johnson MP relating to the campaign. Also includes copy of student dissertation 'An Investigation Into the British Deep Sea Fisherman's Campaign for Redundancy Payments' by Mark Julian Ruston (Mar 1989).
