Scope and Content

These maps were produced for the Census of Distribution taken in 1971 by the Business Statistics Office (functioning as one of the Common Services of the Departments of Industry and Trade) at Newport. They are large scale maps of town centres showing location of business premises with names and trades of occupiers.

Archivist's Note

Two copies of each map were produced: one to be preserved by The National Archives, the other offered to Local Record Offices
