Scope and Content

Management Committee

The volumes include monthly, special, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual meetings in addition to other committee minutes. Conisbrough District minutes are included from volume 1/5 onwards. Woodlands, Goldthorpe, and Arksey half-yearly meetings are included from volume 1/6 onwards, Carcroft from volume 1/7 and Highfields from volume 1/8. Attendance tables are included from volume 1/3 and results of elections to committees and offices from volume 1/5.

Administrative / Biographical History

Management Committee

This was known as the General Committee until 10 July 1923, after which it became the Management Committee. Finally the committee became the C.R.S. Doncaster Branch Committee from 29 October 1969, volume 1/12.

Finance Committee

--------------------------------

This committee was also known as No. 1 Committee until 3 February 1937, when committees 1–4 were divided into various sub-committees. Later minutes concerning finance are to be found within items DYCRS/1/88, 92–96.

Grocery Committee

This committee was also known as No. 2 Committee until 3 February 1937, later minutes are to be found within items DYCRS/1/75, 78–82.

Butchery Committee

---------------------------------

This committee was also known as No. 3 Committee. Further minutes are to be found within items DYCRS/1/78–82 and 84–86.

Drapery Committee

The Drapery Committee was also known as No. 4 Committee until 3 February 1937, later minutes are to be found within items DYCRS/1/80, 83, 85–86, 89–90.

Sub-Committees Nos. 1–5

These sub-committees were formed from the No. 1 Finance, No. 2 Grocery, No. 3 Butchery, and No. 4 Drapery committees. They have signed minutes up to 3 February 1937, see items DYCRS/1/42–62. These sub-committees are eventually disbanded on 17 November 1952, see item 80. During the period February 1937–November 1952 the responsibilities of the sub-committees are changed quite frequently.
