Scope and Content

Frideswide Church of England Middle School was formed when declining numbers at Bishops Kirk Middle School (please see S216/1 for records of this school) and Summertown Middle School (please see S261/3 for records of this school) meant the schools were merged in 1990. The school was located on the site of two former schools: Summertown Middle School and St Gregory's Roman Catholic Middle School was originally known as North Oxford Middle School. The school closed as part of the reforms to the middle school system in 2003 and the site is now occupied by The Cherwell School (please see S261/4 for records of this school).

The records were deposited as part of Acc 3771 in February 1994 and as part of Acc 5159 in July 2003. Catalogued by Alison Smith in June 2016.
