Scope and Content

On the front is typed the following note:
'Council minute 1942/2 (i) dated 28 July 1950. Agreed gratefully to accept from Prebendary A.E. Smith (B.A. 1892) the gift of a table made in the Queen's Carving School and given by His Majesty King George V to him at Sandringham in 1930.'
Below is the following manuscript note:
'The papers in this envelope were in the drawer of the table referred to in the above Council Minute when the table was given to the College. The papers included a letter from King George V to Prebendary Smith, now placed in the College Library [now Misc. Papers GE1]. The remaining papers, which have an association through Prebendary Smith with the table, are left in the drawer. The table is identified by an inscribed plate on its underside. 14 May 1969. J.S. Boys Smith.'
