Administrative / Biographical History

Duntocher Curling Club was established on the 9th of March 1838. At the inaugural meeting the rules and regulations of the club were agreed and club officials appointed with James Templeton becoming the first club president. At a meeting on the 23rd of July 1841 it was agreed that the club should join the Grand Caledonian Curling Club. The club subsequently left the Grand Caledonian and rejoined in 1959. The club is still in existence today and currently plays at the Braehead rink.
