Administrative / Biographical History

The Dylan Thomas Society was founded in 1977, developing from increased interest in his works and the feeling that his works were being neglected. The first meeting was held on the 9th November 1977. The society has performed numerous shows and published annual publications and promotional materials concerning the poet and also international tours in the USA and Canada. Swansea Little Theatre, now known as Dylan Thomas Theatre, started in 1924, having Dylan Thomas as a member in the 1930s. The theatre held numerous productions of Dylan Thomas plays, most notably Under Milk Wood, with members performing internationally through the Dylan Thomas Society. This collection concerns Malcolm Harris' involvement with the society, theatre and general publications and photographs from the society.
