Access Information

Some items are access restricted for 100 years as they contain personal information.

After the Adoption Act of 1926, children's names and the names and addresses of the people who adopted them are given in full. Examples include: FC/2/38 - contains names and addresses of orphan or boarded-out children and their adoptive parents, p.1140. This continued until 1940 when the children's names were no longer stated but the names and addresses of the adoptive parents were still given in full. After 1950, adoptive parents' names are no longer included in the minutes, but these now include full names and addresses of applicants for grants and how much they received (e.g. FC/2/54 - full names and addresses of applicants for grants, p.549).
