United Welsh Services Limited was established in 1939 to take over the various small independent bus companies which had been acquired by the Red and White Group in Swansea. The Red and White bus interests, including United Welsh Services Limited were amalgamated into the Tilling Group in 1950. United Welsh and South Wales Transport Company Limited shared much the same area, and routes were exchanged between the two in 1939 and 1953. In 1971 the company was taken over by South Wales Transport Company.
