Administrative / Biographical History

William Merrick Pugh (c1900-1918) was the son of William Pugh and his wife Alice of Aston, Birmingham. He served as an engineer in the merchant navy and died when his ship the SS Arca was torpedoed in the western approaches off the coast of Northern Ireland in October 1918.
