Subjects include: his son getting long trousers (16 Oct); purchase of new wireless set (24 Nov); Govanhill receiving electric street lights (15 Dec); his wife attending a Burns concert (5 Feb); visit to Camphill Museum (28 Feb); his son sitting for a bursary (13 Mar); flu epidemic in Glasgow (3 Apr); potential coal strike (29 Apr); his son resigning from the Scouts (30 Apr); coal strike (1 May); general strike declared (3 May); effects of the strike including no trains, tram cars or newspapers (4 May); some tram cars running despite the strike and small riots in the city centre (5 May); students driving the tram cars and several more riots in Glasgow (6 May); additional riots in Glasgow (8 May); reported end of the strike (12 May); return of newspapers (15 May); coal shortage (23 May); his son winning a £20 bursary (6 Jun) and temporary removal to Milngavie (7 Jun).
