Bethel Mission Church moved to the site on Clydach Road, formerly the site of Noddfa Baptist Chapel, when their original building was the subject of a compulsory purchase order for slum clearance at Bush Houses, Blaenclydach. in 1969. The new church was built in 1972. In some correspondence and on the Ordnance Survey plan it is sometimes referred to as a Methodist church but the marriage register states that it is an independent evangelical church by 2003.
