Assessment Committee (East Denbighshire), records of

The Assessment Committees, comprising representatives of the County Council and of rating authorities, were formed under the Rating and Valuation Act 1925, to revise and approve draft valuation lists of properties in order to calculate the amount of rates payable. The Committees were dissolved under the Local Government Act 1948. These documents (to which there is a public right of inspection under Section 108 of the General Rate Act 1967) have been presented under Section 3 (6) of the Public Records Act 1958. Wrexham Area Assessment Committee, Denbighshire, was known as East Denbighshire from 1935.
