Letter, Woolwich, 18 June 1837, from Gunner Hector Evans, Royal Horse Artillery, to (his father) Mr David Evans, York Place, Swansea, describing how he is going to be a (horse) collar-maker in the Regiment and will shortly go to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and from there to Dublin. He will be home in six months and hopes that he will win his father’s approval. Endorsed “to care Bombardier Cardin R H Artilery” and stamped 20 June 1837. 1837
