Administrative / Biographical History
The first Nebo Baptist Chapel in Cwmdare was opened in 1858 and in 1868 a larger chapel was built on the same site. Nebo Newydd Baptist Church is located on Gobaith Terrace. The chapel on Gobaith Terrace, originally built in 1861, was originally called Gobaith Methodist Church but it changed name and denomination in 1977. In 2013 the church ceased to be licensed to carry out marriages.
