Agorwyd yr ysgol ym mis Awst 1874 fel ysgol iau a babanod cymysg a Thomas K Williams oedd y prifathro. Ym 1879 cafwyd adroddiad arolygu gwael ac yna newidiwyd y prifathro - ym mis Ionawr 1883 Pryse Jones a Mai 1885 S. Davies. Erbyn 1898 y prifathro oedd John William Jones ac roedd 'trefn ardderchog' ar yr ysgol.
Ym 1902 roedd 84 o ysgolheigion ar y gofrestr. Rhai o broblemau'r ysgol oedd gwres gwael - mewn arolygiad ym 1903 roedd yn 40 gradd feinhait yn ystafell yr ysgol - er mai 56 - 60 gradd yr argymhellwyd. Roedd presenoldeb hefyd yn broblem (bob amser yn broblem mewn ysgolion gwledig) heb unrhyw swyddog presenoldeb i ddatrys y mater. Roedd hefyd diffyg lle, yn enwedig ar gyfer y babanod (ED/LB/18/11 - tudalen 27, 41).
Ar 1 Mehefin, 1904 agorodd yr ysgol fel ysgol a ddarperir o dan yr awdurdod newydd.
Ym mis Rhagfyr 1908 roedd 88 o ysgolheigion ar y gofrestr a pharhaodd y problemau gydag awyru a gorlenwi. 'Mae'r ystafell ddosbarth yn annioddefol ac mae'n rhaid ei gwagio bob hanner awr er mwyn cael gwared ar yr awyr ddrwg.'
Ym 1907 roedd garddio bwthyn yn bwnc newydd. Erbyn mis Rhagfyr 1909 roedd yr ysgol wedi'i hadnewyddu ac yn cynnig lleoliad gwell ar gyfer y babanod ond yn dal i fod heb gyflenwad d?r.
Erbyn 1923, roedd 72 o blant ar y gofrestr ond cafodd y pennaeth John William Jones ei ganmol gan yr arolygwyr am weithio'n galed ond honnodd yr arolygwyr nad oedd yr ysgol yn ddigon ysgogol. Roeddent hefyd yn feirniadol o sgiliau iaith Saesneg yr ysgolheigion.
Ym mis Mehefin 1923 terfynwyd contract Mrs JE Jones fel prifathrawes gynorthwyol yn yr ysgol gan ei bod yn awr yn wraig briod. Roedd hi wedi gwasanaethu'r ysgol ers 1892.
Ym mis Rhagfyr 1929 ymddeolodd John William Jones ar ôl 37 a hanner o flynyddoedd fel pennaeth, a chafodd ei ddisodli gan D Stanley Jones. Erbyn 1931 roedd 46 ar y gofrestr.
Gostyngodd y niferoedd ymhellach gan fod bellach angen i blant dros 11 oed fynd i Ysgol Ganolog Pentrefoelas, ac nid oedd llawer yn dymuno gwneud hynny.
Ym mis Gorffennaf 1938 agorodd cae chwarae ar gyfer yr ysgol yn swyddogol gan roi cyfle am fwy o chwaraeon ar gyfer yr ysgol. (ED/LB/18/12 tudalen 236 - llun papur newydd.)
Erbyn Gorffennaf 1994, dim ond 8 o ddisgyblion oedd yn weddill yn yr ysgol. Caewyd yr ysgol yn swyddogol ar 31 Awst 1994. Y pennaeth olaf oedd Myfanwy Davies. Roedd yn ben-blwydd yr ysgol yn 120. (DD/DM/341/93 Denbighshire Free Press 8 Gorffennaf, 1994 tudalen 10)
The school opened in August 1874 as a mixed junior and infants school with Thomas K Williams as head teacher. In 1879 it had a poor inspection report followed by changes of head teacher - in January 1883 Pryse Jones and May 1885 S. Davies. By 1898 the head teacher was John William Jones and the school was in 'excellent order'.
In 1902 there were 84 scholars on roll. Problems for the school were poor heating - at an inspection of 1903 it was 40 degrees f in the school room - when 56 - 60 degrees was recommended. Attendance was also an issue (always a problem in rural schools) with no attendance officer to resolve the issue. There was also a lack of space, especially for the infants (ED/LB/18/11 - page 27, 41).
On 1st June 1904 the school opened as a provided school under the new authority.
In December 1908 there were 88 scholars on roll and the problems of ventilation and overcrowding continued. 'The classroom is unbearable and has to be emptied every half hour in order to get rid of the foul air.'
In 1907 cottage gardening was a new subject. By December 1909 the refurbished school provided better accommodation for the infants but still there was no water supply.
By 1923 there were 72 children on roll but head teacher John William Jones was praised by inspectors for being hard working but inspectors claimed that the school was not stimulating enough. They were also critical of the scholars' English language skills.
In June 1923 Mrs J E Jones had her contract as assistant mistress at the school terminated as she was now a married woman. She had served the school since 1892.
In December 1929 John William Jones retired after 37 and half years as head teacher, and was replaced by D Stanley Jones. By 1931 there were 46 on roll. Numbers dropped further as the 11 plus children were now required to go to Pentrefoelas Central School which many did not want to do.
In July 1938 a playing field for the school was officially opened providing the opportunity for more sport for the school. (ED/LB/18/12 page 236 - newspaper photo.)
By July 1994 there were just 8 pupils left at the school. The school was officially closed on 31st August 1994. The last head teacher was Myfanwy Davies. It was the school's 120 years anniversary. (DD/DM/341/93 Denbighshire Free Press July 8th 1994 page 10)
