of Holland Williams Esq., and others, to John Prichard, Gent., and his trustees
Release and Assignment of several terms in trust to attend the inheritance of Dinam, Rhyd Dinam, &c. ; consideration, £2,422. It is an indenture of eight parts written on eight skins and traces the devolution of the Dinam mortgage from 11 & 12 January 1716-7, to the date of this final release to J.P., a tedious series of new assignments and constantly changing parties. Holland W., of Conway and Pwll-y-crochan, was the representative in 1774 of the original mortgagor Thomas WIlliams (for the family, see Pedigrees, 107, 341). In the course of the years, the list of lands seems to vary somewhat: Dina, Brynllwyd (alias Brynllwyn) and Rhyd Dinam appear in all, while some include Penrorsedd and Penrhos, all, however, in the parishes of Llangaffo and Newborough. It i important to remember that the purchase terms comprised not only Dinam and its collateral properties, but also a moiety of the "township" of Dinam, and sitting places in the parish church of Llangaffo "as well in the chancel as in the body of the same." The name of William Prichard of Caernarvon, father of J.P., appears as party to some of the assignments as later as 1754.
