Document relating to the marriage-settlement of William Prichard of Caernarvon and Catherine, daughter of Anne Williams of the same town; feofees in trust, John Morgan of Treaseth [sic.] and Richard Owen of Llangaffo; lands concerned in the deeds - Llawr-y-dre, Ynys y Barcdy ("Barktu"), Tyddyn y Mynydd alias Mynydd ucha and Mynydd issa, Tyddyn y Llan, Cae y Llan, Y Ty wrth y Llan, Ty Elin Edmond, and a garden tenement near the parish church of Llangaffo, all already in the several occupations of Richard Owen, William Prichard, and Thomas William Taylor [tailor?]; arrangements for jointure and pricrity of succession. This W.P. was the father of the first John Prichard of Dinam by the wife Catherine figuring in this document, who is described as the only daughter and heir apparent of Anne W., widow. J.E.G. (Pedigrees, 46) says Catherine was heiress to her grandfather Richard Owen, but there is no overt proof that the grandfather was the Richard Owen who is to act as feofee in the marriage-settlement. In any case, the dead husband of A.W. and the father of Catherine still remains obscure. It is important also to note that the settlement states that Catherine was heir to her mother Anne.
