This volume contains the following six Ottoman Turkish texts:. (I) ff 2v-76r : Kanunname, a code regulating land tenure, taxes and military fiefs that is also known as the Kanunname-i cedid. It is ascribed to Ebussuud, Şeyh-ül-İslâm, and was compiled after Selim II's accession by Defterdar Mehmet Çelebi. The present copy contains many later decisions by Yahya Efendi (Müfti 1031-53 AH/1621-44 CE); Mehmet Behai (Müfti 1059-64 AH/1649-54 CE); and others. It comcludes with an Imperial order or tevki addressed to the Beylerbeyi of Bosna and is dated Rebiülevel 1133 AH (January 1721 CE);. (II) ff 76v-87v : Legal opinions of Muftiler and Kadılar (the Kadı of Belgrade included) on points of civil law. The last is dated Muharrem 1147 AH (June 1734 CE);. (III) ff 88v-120v : Rules and decisions relating to cases of civil law, land tenure and taxes, without dates or signatures;. (IV) ff 121v-142r : Legal opinions of the Şeyh-ül-İslâm Ebussuud. The compiler, whose name does not appear, says tha thtose opinions, stated in agreement with the ruling of the great müctehitler by the 'late' Şeyh-ül-İslâm Ebussuud, and sanctioned by the 'late' Sultan Süleyman I, had been collected by the order of the new Sultan (Selim I). They are not arranged under special headings. The work is known as the Maruzat-i Ebussuud;. (V) ff 142v-146r : Chronological list of the governors of Bosnia from Nasuh Bey (888 AH/1483 CE) to İvaz Mehmet Paşa (1154 AH/1741-42 CE), continued to later additions to 1205 AH (1790-91 CE);. (VI) ff 147v-156r : Chronological abstract of Ottoman history, from the beginning of the dynasty to the accession of Mustafa III (1171 AH/1757 CE), brought down by another hand to 1204 AH (1789-90 CE). The texts were copied by İsa İbn-i Salih el-Müezzin bi-Camii Hüseyinağa and completed by 19 Rebiülevel 1182 AH (3 August 1768 CE).
